What is FrostWire?
FrostWire is a free, open source BitTorrent client first released in September 2004, as a fork of LimeWire. It was initially very similar to LimeWire in appearance and functionality, but over time developers added more features, including support for the BitTorrent protocol and a full blown media player.
Happy Thursday! Today we’re glad to announce FrostWire 1.9.8. for Android. This is one of our major releases of this year being that includes new features that will make your experience a lot better. If you want to download torrents or files in a more precise way you need to download this release!
First of all, FrostWire for Android now have search filtering tools. What is that? Search Filtering Tools allows you to get better search results. After you do a search you can filter it (by keyword, source, file extension,etc) in order to get more accurate results.
How to use Search Filtering Tools?
It’s easy!
Open FrostWire 1.9.8+ and do a search.
Then, click on the menu bottom on the right. You will see different options for filter results. For example, you can filter by a manually entered keyword, or an automatically detected prominent search source.
You can also filter by sources / channels, file extensions, or/and file names.
As you apply filters, the results in the background will be reduce to match all of the filters you’ve specified and less suggestions are automatically calculated.
By default the filters you apply are inclusive (+), if you touch an applied filter it will switch from inclusive (-), to exclusive (-), meaning it will check for results that do not have such keyword in its metadata.
More updates
On the other hand, we improved VPN detection and services. FrostWire will block bittorrent connection if you have a VPN and you are not using it. In this manner, your privacy will be protected! If you don’t have a VPN, we strongly recoomend you to install it!
If you love to have an app with a fresh and cool design you will be happy to see that we updated the user interface.
Finally, now you will have the option to see “Last Added” for each song on the music player.

As you know, Funk is a music genre that originated in the mid- to late 1960s when African American musicians created a rhythmic, danceable new form of music through a mixture of soul music, jazz, and rhythm and blues.
Today, we want to share with you a 5 amazing funk music bands that you must listen to! These bands share their music using the Creative Commons license.
Moe Shop gives a certain spin to the Future Funk world. It has a very energetic vibe, leaning towards the Future side of the genre. It almost has sounds similar to J-Pop, but those kicks and snares are still laid over funk samples that will make you dance like you’re in an animated music video.
Lawrence is an eight-piece soul powerhouse from New York City. Led by the talented sibling vocal duo Clyde Lawrence and Gracie Lawrence, produced by Grammy Award winning producer Eric Kranso, and influenced by old school and new school giants, Lawrence presents a beautiful LP of dynamic vocals, powerful horns, and soulful grooves. As their first and maybe most important album, they’ve rightfully called this releaseBreakfast. We’ve found a sampling of some of the delicious tracks on the album.
LA-based group Shoos Off injects some funk into your day with Most Times EP. The album features five tracks that oozes with musings of pop, hip hop and r&b as well as a dash of eccentricity by using a wide range of instruments with a sense of control.

Taking a share of the delicious musical pie is newcomer Bonnie Bordeaux (even her name sounds super gorgeous), who’s bringing her own iteration of funk by tastefully concocting it with 40’s style of jazz and soul. We all know that reading is important. Reading expands our knowledge, improves our concentration, gives us new experiences, giving us life examples for future decisions, boost imagination and creativity, exercises our brains, and a lot more. However, there are books better than others. So today we are going to give you a few tips on what free books you should read. All the following books are available under public domain and can be downloaded on FrostWire.
1. A Tale of Two Cities, by Charles Dickens
A Tale of Two Cities (1859) is a novel by Charles Dickens, set in London and Paris before and during the French Revolution. The novel depicts the plight of the French peasantry demoralized by the French aristocracy in the years leading up to the revolution, the corresponding brutality demonstrated by the revolutionaries toward the former aristocrats in the early years of the revolution, and many unflattering social parallels with life in London during the same period.
2. The Flowers of Evil, by Charles Baudelaire
Les Fleurs du mal (English: The Flowers of Evil) is a volume of French poetry by Charles Baudelaire. First published in 1857 (see 1857 in poetry), it was important in the symbolist and modernist movements. The poems deal with themes relating to decadence and eroticism.
3. Wuthering Heights, by Emily Bronte
Wuthering Heights is Emily Brontë’s only novel. Written between October 1845 and June 1846, Wuthering Heights is one of the most powerful love stories. It follows the life of Heathcliff, a mysterious gypsy-like person, from childhood (about seven years old) to his death in his late thirties. Heathcliff rises in his adopted family and then is reduced to the status of a servant, running away when the young woman he loves decides to marry another.
4. The Prince, by Niccolò Machiavelli.
The Prince is sometimes claimed to be one of the first works of modern philosophy, especially modern political philosophy, in which the effective truth is taken to be more important than any abstract ideal. It was also in direct conflict with the dominant Catholic and scholastic doctrines of the time concerning how to consider politics and ethics. If you want to be a leader you must read this book
5. Micrographia: Some Physiological Descriptions of Minute Bodies Made by Magnifying Glasses with Observations and Inquiries Thereupon, by Robert Hooke
According to Discover Magazine, “A revelation in its time, Micrographia exposed the previously hidden microscopic world. Hooke, an early developer of the compound microscope, used his device to peer at the eyes of flies, the stinger on a bee, hairs, bristles, sand particles, seeds, and more, noting every detail with both words and masterful illustrations. The original book is a hefty three pounds, so the digital versions now available are more convenient, but there is something to be said for flipping through a printed copy and discovering, like a hidden treasure, each drawing in its beautiful intricacy”

Anna Jordan‘s debut EP, Dust, is like a shiny new toy that fills that craving for unique flavor. An alum from Newpark Music School, Anna is no stranger to the literature of sound. She studied jazz piano under the tutelage of Phil Ware, and has taken great inspiration from the aesthetics of great pianists such as Sonny Clark and Thelonius Monk.
