Music of the Week #1

On FrostClick we publish reviews of new music bands that share their music for free. Since 2007 FrostWire brings you the best free music that you need to listen to. And now, each week we are going to promote here the new music reviews that are on FrostClick.

Anna Jordan
Anna Jordan
  1. Nude: Naturalness EP
Naturalness is a short but sweet affair that sounds eerily like the ironically-named band Kill Paris‘ latest release.
  2. O: Be Sides – Mostla Tape
One of underground label La Souterraine‘s acts, O (short for Olivier Marguerit), just released a full-length B-sides collection, “Be Sides – Mostla Tape,” which round out some of the most interesting arrangements and production for a French neophyte [at least for me].
  3. Anna Jordan: Dust EP
Anna Jordan‘s debut EP, Dust, is like a shiny new toy that fills that craving for unique flavor. An alum from Newpark Music School, Anna is no stranger to the literature of sound. She studied jazz piano under the tutelage of Phil Ware, and has taken great inspiration from the aesthetics of great pianists such as Sonny Clark and Thelonius Monk.

Fhernando’s Last Days of Disco featured on FrostWire

Download Free Album

Intent on recreating an aesthetic pioneered by the 80s, Mexico-based musician Fhernando brings back the funk in Last Days of Disco.

The young Mexican DJ is not a stranger to the music scene. Since his teenage years, Fhernando or Fernando Ramires Rios has been composing music and has already released several EPs and singles. His most recent album, Sweet Addiction produced a lot of buzz on music websites.

Featuring 12 tracks of musical bliss, Last Days of Disco will transport you into an era of upbeat yet soothing melodies.

Funkylicious opens with steady dance beats mixed with jazzy horns. This radio-polished track will give that right dose of party high.

Fluttering with playful keys, title track Last Days of Disco will surely spread some good vibes. Ride My Tempo, on the other hand, features a plethora of deep drum tones and trumpet sounds.

Tracks like Anthony Jones, Kiss Me Harder, and Crying At The Discoteque feature big-hearted party anthems with some sonic surprises.

A personal favourite, (I Need Ya) L.O.V.E is that kind of track that boosts your mind and energy. It’s the perfect backdrop while working as it features subtle yet upbeat instrumentation.

Fhernando seals up the collection with Pasadena Nights, a disco track with an electro flair. I love how each the music slowly builds into a jungle of harmonized melodies.

For those who are looking for a steady upbeat vibe, Last Days of Disco is the perfect album for you. Fhernando has successfully created something that does not only revive a glowing era of music, but also recreates it in a way where it becomes an easy listenable whole.

Before this you might not have heard of Vanatei [Va-neeh-tee], and after, you’ll either find your next favorite female rapper or move on to find somebody else. I’m not exactly big on female rappers myself, but the few that I’ve discovered I actually really liked. One of the latest female MCs I’ve come across is Vanatei.

This spunky girl from Newark, New Jersey is not just a rapper but also an advertising guru. [She set up and manages her own advertising business.] Her skills as a rapper is something to rave about as well, with her album Dis Bish Got Moola, showcasing her knack for creating catchy beats while spitting out stark lyrics and producing good rhythm.  Continue reading “Vanatei featured on FrostWire”
