A new version of FrostWire 4.18.1 is finally out for Windows, Mac and Linux.
This release focuses in fixing many of the complains received by the community, mostly related to the connectivity and the media player.
FrostWire 4.18.1 updates the “Connection Doctor” strategy and connects to a new network of UHC servers.
It addresses a severe bug on the media player, it will now work around an “Invalid Frame Header” bug on ome mp3 files, all mp3 files should play now.
Mac users will be happy to find a bug related to opening BitTorrent files completly fixed.

FrostWire 4.18.2 is scheduled to be released sometime during August 2009, it will be an update geared towards minimizing the amount of spam and fake search results, so stay tuned.

I just installed this new version of FrostWire 4.18.1 and I am very satisfied.
I am using every day, with Ubuntu, and I must say that it works very well and gives me much satisfaction.
I like particularly because it uses the old interface Limewire (… pls!!! … do not change this !!!).
Gui that I consider the most beautiful and functional of all p2p programs.
Again: PLS do not change THIS GUI NEVER!!
Congratulations for the skins, beautiful and very colorful.
I rest several hours at pc and that is why I chose the black skin, it is restful to the eyes.
Many p2p programs have not thought about creating a black skin: Shareaza, Emule, amule, utorrent etc …
I read on this blog that Frostwire can upload the lists bluetack.

If I may suggest a new feature I propose that we create a function where the client recharge lists blutack directly via a button.
This feature is already implemented in amule (Linux).
Downloading torrent files works fine.
I would like to be able manually to switch in ultrapeer mode. This feature could be included in the functions “advanced”.
I did not find the button to stop to see a list of my files.
I wanted to also ask if there are plans to include the possibility of a second network as the G2 (Mike’s protocol).
I am aware of the problems with this type of protocol, but take into account that user Ubuntu / Linux haven’t a p2p program with the most decentralized networks joined together (G1, G2).

The Windows theme bug is still unfixed. I have reported the bug to Frostwire forums but developpers don’t seem to read these at all. When the hell are they going to fix that?
Applying the Windows theme (window_theme.fwtp in themes.jar) causes the Frostwire UI to completely freeze on second and subsequent startups after applying the theme. The Frostwire default blue theme is plain ugly and doesn’t fit at all in the Vista Aero theming.
hi,
when i tried to install th new versoin it installs properly but when it tries to open, it gets to about 9% and then it says “your save folder is not valid. It may have been deleted, you may not have permissions to write it, or there may be another problem. please choose a differant folder.” The only possability is the last option, but when i go th the frostwire folder, i cant acces it.
Is there a proper link to the older version for me to download that you could give me or is there a way to get around this problem?

I have the same exact problem as stevem. Hopefully this bug will get fixed soon,I miss frostwire. would install an older version if I knew where I could find it and upgrade to the new one when the bugs are work out.
