FrostWire is a free, open source BitTorrent client first released in September 2004, as a fork of LimeWire. It was initially very similar to LimeWire in appearance and functionality, but over time developers added more features, including BitTorrent support. In version 5, Gnutella support was dropped entirely, and FrostWire is only a BitTorrent client. Development of the program has been active since the program was first released in September 2004.

  1. why does the frostwire freeze at a screen that says u are configuring something, writing is unclear. since i downloaded new frostwire 5.75 it no longer works? are you guys coming out with 5.76 soon? will it work?

    1. brad, that’s not supposed to happen

what operating system are you using? windows? mac? linux? what version?
how are you connecting to the internet?
did you try uninstalling and re-installing the software?

make sure you download the installer from our official website http://www.frostwire.com

We are working on 5.7.6, if we could know more about your issue perhaps we could fix it for 5.7.6.

Also try opening FrostWire with the safe-launcher if you are in windows.

If you are not in windows you can try running it from a terminal, and if the app crashes/freezes, please paste the terminal output here so we can analize it and see if there are any clues as to how to fix the issue.
