How to fix ‘App not installed’ error while downloading FrostWire Plus from outside Google Play?

On this post you will learn how to fix “app not installed” error while downloading FrostWire Plus from outside Google Play. FrostWire Basic and FrostWire Plus are based on the same code, but FrostWire Plus has the ability to download from YouTube and SoundCloud in addition to the BitTorrent Network.

  1. Backup your FrostWire downloads saved within the SD card to make sure you won’t lose any of your files when uninstalling the app. (Check here how to backup your files downloaded)
  2. Open your Settings > Application Manager > All and select FrostWire, then click the button “Force stop” and “Uninstall” the app.
  3. Open your internet browser – Firefox or any browser other than Chrome – on your device and go to http://www.frostwire.com/downloads
  4. Select the Android icon on the website and then click on the button “Get the APK”
  5. Open your file manager (like File Commander) and go to the folder “Downloads”
  6. Select the .apk file downloaded from frostwire.com/downloads (it should be frostwire-android-release-[versionNumber]-b[buildNumber]-plus.apk) and open it with the app “Package Installer”

Download FrostWire Plus 1.7.4. for Android now!

We are SO HAPPY to announce this new FrostWire Plus for Android release. This version has a lot of new improvements and options that you’re going to love. First of all, we added a new ‘Seed’ action on ‘My Files’. Now you can create and seed a torrent of any file with a single touch. What can you do with this option? If you have a file that you want to share with your friends, you only click on Seed and then copy the magnet link and send it to your friends. It’s a really good way, for example, to share big files.

Seed

We also added a new handpicked file selection on .torrent downloads. So now you can download specific files from a torrent!

We also fixed issues saving to SD Card on multiple devices and a few bugs.

In order to give you more search results, we added a new search engine: TorrentDownloads.me. We also fixed YouTube video, Torlock and EZTV search results.
